Ann Hui wins two cookbook awards

Douglas & McIntyre is (doubly) pleased to announce that Ann Hui and her debut book Chop Suey Nation: The Legion Cafe and Other Stories from Canada's Chinese Restaurants is a double award winner this week.

Chop Suey Nation won Gold in the Culinary Narratives category of the 2020 Taste Canada Awards. In its 23rd year, the Taste Canada Awards/ Les Lauréats des Saveurs du Canada annually honours superior writing and publishing throughout Canada's culinary community, both in English and French. 

Hui and her D&M editor Nicola Goshulak also won in the Literary/Historical Food Writing category of the International Association of Culinary Professionals' 2020 Cookbook Awards. IACP’s mission is to empower, educate, and engage culinary professionals around the globe. Their awards are among the most prestigious and coveted in the food industry.
