Congratulations to Sharon Wood and Richard Van Camp
Douglas & McIntyre is pleased to announce that two of our books have been shortlisted for the 2020 Alberta Literary Awards!
Each year, the Alberta Literary Awards and the City of Edmonton recognize and celebrate the highest standards of literary excellence from Alberta and Edmonton authors. This year, juries deliberated on more than 200 submissions to select 27 shortlisted titles in nine categories. Finalists represent excellence in literary work written by Alberta authors and published or created in 2019.
Rising: Becoming the First Canadian Woman to Summit Everest, a memoir by Canmore author Sharon Wood, is a finalist for the Wilfrid Eggleston Award for Nonfiction.
Moccasin Square Gardens, a short story collection by Edmonton writer Richard Van Camp, is a finalist for the Georges Bugnet Award for Fiction.
Congratulations to both Sharon and Richard!
