Congratulations to Paula Wild, author of Return of the Wolf: Conflict and Coexistence, whose book won a silver medal in the Environment/Ecology category of the 2019 Independent Publisher Book Awards. These prestigious prizes are open to authors published across North America. Return of the Wolf combines ancient myths, natural history, science and personal stories to explore society’s evolving relationship with wolves and how human attitudes affect the populations, behaviour and conservation of the predator today.

She’s feasted on fresh oolichan grease in the Bella Coola Valley, paddled the piranha-infested waters of the Amazon River and lived off the grid in the rainforest of northern Vancouver Island.
